Amid mounting criticism that, nearly a year after the inauguration, his Presidency is defined by vacuous rhetoric and paralyzed indecision, President Barack Obama has announced plans to appoint a “Decider” to his White House staff to make difficult and unpopular policy decisions. According to Obama,

When I decided to run, I figured the Presidency would be just like every other job I’ve had– symbolic, inconsequential, an opportunity to hobnob with a rarefied cultural elite.

However, it has become apparent that I miscalibrated. Between two wars, nuclear threats from Iran and North Korea, an emboldened Russia, to say nothing of an intractable economic catastrophe at home that has shredded the progressive playbook over and over, I’m so exhausted that I can barely decide who to invite for weekly music night at the White House, or which fawning interview to grant.

It is for that reason I have made the decision to augment my White House staff with a “Decider.” The process may take some time, and I may have to appoint a Decider to pick the Decider. It’s a big choice, the gravity of which I do not underestimate.

Look at this absurd pageantry from Obama’s meeting with doctors at the White House yesterday. Yes, that woman is passing out white lab coats.

It would have looked staged even if only 90% of the doctors wore lab coats, so it’s pretty funny that the White House thought that every single doctor should wear a lab coat, regardless of whether they would ever use one at work.

I guess we’re getting a preview of the uniformed civil servants that Obama wants to see run this country.

Take it from me. You should pass this shit.

But next time they should probably keep it simple and just get the cast from ER and Scrubs. They’ve already fallen in line for Obamacare.

From the New York Post: White House’s botched ‘Op’. Via Instapundit.

Recognizing that proponents of the Democratic plan to overhaul American healthcare have not been assembling spontaneously in any numbers at town hall events to counter the protesters, the White House has defaulted to the “Forward” button on supporters’ email. (Virtual counter-protests are so much easier!)

I guess Axelrod is sensible enough to know that, among proponents of their healthcare plan, there is a deficit in the ardor that compels Americans to actually go to these events, stand out in the heat, and passionately and vocally make their beliefs known.

Dear Friend,This is probably one of the longest emails I’ve ever sent, but it could be the most important.Across the country we are seeing vigorous debate about health insurance reform. Unfortunately, some of the old tactics we know so well are back — even the viral emails that fly unchecked and under the radar, spreading all sorts of lies and distortions. As President Obama said at the town hall in New Hampshire, “where we do disagree, let’s disagree over things that are real, not these wild misrepresentations that bear no resemblance to anything that’s actually been proposed.”So let’s start a chain email of our own. At the end of my email, you’ll find a lot of information about health insurance reform, distilled into 8 ways reform provides security and stability to those with or without coverage, 8 common myths about reform and 8 reasons we need health insurance reform now.Right now, someone you know probably has a question about reform that could be answered by what’s below. So what are you waiting for? Forward this email.

Thanks,
You can find the information below, and much more, there. For example, we’ve just added a video of Nancy-Ann DeParle from our Health Reform Office tackling a viral email head on.
