Barack Obama "humbled" by Nobel Peace Prize, says it "reminds me that I am still a lowly, earthbound mortal"
From the AP:
Awoken by press secretary Robert Gibbs about an hour after the vote was announced, the White House says the president responded that he was humbled to be only the third sitting U.S. president to win.
Humbled, eh? Yeah, I guess it is kind of an overcelebrated, politicized thing of questionable values. (As it turns out, not unlike the latest honoree himself.)

Barack Obama Unanimously Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The Nobel Prize and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame follow his being named NBA/NFL/MLB/FIFA/Pan-Athletic Player of the Century
Also unanimous:
- The decision to temporarily rescind the policy that “artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record,” or that inductees ever have produced anything of substance or meaning, ever
- Name change to the Barack and Roll Hall of Fame

Why stop at the Barack and Roll Hall of Fame?? I’ve seen a picture of Obama holding a bat when he was a small child. Certainly this qualifies him for the Baseball Hall of Fame?
