Comedy Central Preemptively Beheads South Park Creators

with one comment

The late Matt Stone (left) and Trey Parker

NEW YORK CITY – In an effort to avoid an Islamist backlash to a recent episode of South Park which attempted to depict the Muslim prophet Muhammad, executives at Comedy Central have preemptively beheaded the cartoon’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

The specially-forged scimitar used in the beheading was then presented to the American-Islamic Council in an elaborate apology ceremony. Representatives from Comedy Central donned hijabs and dutifully recited passages from the Qur’an.

MARK STEYN: Not Too ‘Hip’ and ‘Edgy’ for Censorship

without comments

[South Park creators Matt] Stone and [Trey] Parker get what was at stake in the Danish-cartoons crisis and many other ostensibly footling concessions: Imperceptibly, incrementally, remorselessly, the free world is sending the message that it is happy to trade core liberties for the transitory security of a quiet life. That is a dangerous signal to give freedom’s enemies. So the South Park episode is an important cultural pushback.

They’re so edgy they’re curled up in the fetal position, whimpering at the guy with the cutting edge, “Please. Behead me last. And don’t use the rusty scimitar where you have to saw away for 20 minutes to find the spinal column . . . ”

MARK STEYN: But We’re Still Gonna Kill You

without comments

The election of Barack Obama was a fundamentally unserious act by the U.S. electorate, and you can’t blame the world’s mischief-makers, from Putin to Ahmadinejad to the many Gitmo recidivists now running around Yemen, from drawing the correct conclusion.

Robert Gibbs: Close Guantanamo because Al-Qaeda “recruiting videos have used the prison”

without comments

Via Jake Tapper:

I will say this. I have seen some far crazier comments today — comments from people like John Boehner. Here’s what I would suggest for John Boehner. Call up Leon Panetta or Denny Blair at the CIA or the director of national intelligence. Ask them if he can come down and watch a video put out by Al Qaida senior leadership like — the names that we recognize, (Ayman al-) Zawahiri. Thirty-two times since 2001 and four times this year alone, senior Al Qaida leadership in recruiting videos have used the prison at Guantanamo Bay as a clarion call to bring extremists from around the world to join their effort.

Let me get this straight. The idea is that because they hate something we do and they use it in their propaganda, we should cease doing it?

But why stop at the prison at Guantanamo Bay (which after all is only being relocated)? They seem to really hate infidels, too– I’d institute a non-voluntary conversion of all Americans to Islam.  And the ensuing Inquisition? Sounds like jobs to me!

GERALDO RIVERA: "The people I feel most sorry for tonight are the 12-15,000 Muslim G.I.'s who serve honorably…"

with one comment

Geraldo Rivera offers Bill O’Reilly his thoughts on the Ft. Hood massacre:

The people I feel most sorry for tonight are the 12-15,000 Muslim G.I.’s who serve honorably and the four million Muslims in this country– the citizens who are patriots and believe in our country and now will be because of the way this story is being played be subjected to more of the kind of undertoned, widespread resentment and prejudice and discrimation that’s happened really since 9/11.

Really, the most sorry? I can think of 13 families that might, arguably, jump ahead of those who may or may not be inconvenienced at a later date for their religious identification.
