Democrats find their ideal constituency?
JammieWearingFool discovered this onesy for sale at the Democrats’ new Interwebz:
That’s adorable. Who doesn’t love babies– especially babies with the misfortune to be born to activist Democrats that project their politics onto unwitting infants?
(I couldn’t help thinking of a version that is much more appropriate at the moment.)

WSJ: The Message of Massachusetts
It takes a special kind of delusion to believe, amid a popular revolt against too much government spending and debt, that another $1 trillion would have made all the difference. But that’s the latest left-wing theme.
The real message of Massachusetts is that Democrats have committed the classic political mistake of ideological overreach. Mr. Obama won the White House in part on his personal style and cool confidence amid a recession and an unpopular war. Yet liberals in Congress interpreted their victory as a mandate to repeal more or less the entire post-1980 policy era and to fulfill, at last, their dream of turning the U.S. into a cradle-to-grave entitlement state.
MARK STEYN: Cross the River, Burn the Bridge
The monstrous mountain of toxic pustules sprouting from greasy boils metastasizing from malign carbuncles that passed the Senate on Christmas Eve is not the last word in “health†“care,†but the first. It ensures that this is all we’ll be talking about, now and forever.
…
Think of the way almost every Big Government project bursts its bodice and winds up bigger and more bloated than its creators allegedly foresaw. In this instance, the stays come pre-loosened, and studded with loopholes. Because the Democrat operators — the Nancy Pelosis and Barney Franks — know that what matters is to get something, anything across the river, and then burn the bridge behind you.
Facing Budget Cuts, MSNBC Replaces Keith Olbermann With Talking Point-Reciting Automaton

ObamaBot 2000 wirelessly receives up to the minute Democratic talking points.
After receiving news that majority owner NBC Universal plans to mandate 10% operating budget reductions for 2010, MSNBC has announced their intention to replace “Countdown” host Keith Olbermann with a soulless automaton programmed to recite Democratic Party talking points.
The Wi-Fi-equipped “Obamabot” automaton also contains a voice modulation feature which can mimic a wide range of human voices, from righteous indignation to smug condescension.
MSNBC Associate Vice President of Programming Skip Willoughby remarked,
We don’t think anybody will be able to tell the difference. If anything, Obamabot has more of an independent streak.
It's no wonder the values of middle Americans are so troubling and confusing to Democratic Congressmen…
The proportion of Democrats with a net worth less than $0 or greater than $50 million is almost 5 to 1 vs. Republicans.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics,
- 13 Democratic Congressmen have  a net worth of less than $0 (vs. 2 Republicans)
- 6 Democratic Congressmen have a net worth of more than $50 million (vs. 2 Republicans)
- 6 of the 7 wealthiest Congressmen are Democrats. (The only Republican in the group is Rep. Darrell Issa of California, a self-made businessman and founder of Directed Electronics.)
Look up Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL). His net worth is in the red– $(4,732,002), up slightly from 2004. I know the guy’s a crook (only the sixth federal judge to be impeached and removed from office in U.S. history), but what the hell? Maybe he needs to spend a few years in the private sector– I’d recommend a career in concrete toilets or fish sperm freezers; the brilliant industrialists in Congress have been paying some hefty premiums for those.
