Bad Friendster. Bad.
This morning I received an email from Friendster announcing some exciting new changes. (I hadn’t been on the site, like everybody else, since about 2004.)
I decided to check it out. I clicked on the link. These are the next three screens I saw. Seriously. (These are cropped screen shots.)
It didn’t do anything bad to my PC, so I mostly just feel sorry for these guys.
UPDATE: Read the comments. Somebody from Friendster visited and proved friendly and responsive. (I’m still not changing the title, though– it’s pretty messed up that anybody had to deal with this sort of thing.)
What ads were on friendster when this happened? Got a screen of those, too?

I didn't see any other ads on Friendster. As soon as I logged in and clicked on "Friends," (I think) these consumed the entire browser window.

99% sure this is due to a malicious ad being served up by a third party ad partner. Rest assured, we're on this and doing our best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Sorry, but Milli Vanilli is as far as my contract allows me to go, especially since I'm running lynx since they won't let me use veronica or gopher.
I pestered you on twitter – if there's anything in the uncropped images that shows what ads were on the screen, that would let me know who I need to go hit with a chainsaw. Thanks!

Shoot, I don't. I cropped them immediately after pasting from Print Screen…
But now I really want to help, because you've been kind of friendly and clever…
I'll try following the link again and see if anything happens. If I see anything and the Interwebz don't blow up my PC, I'll write back with details.
