snarky, self-referential tagline

The increasingly unsubtle indoctrination of children

without comments

The often patronizing, always propagandizing “educational” video The Story of Stuff has been distributed to 7,000 schools, churches and other organizations, according to research from Glenn Beck.  The posted version of the video has some intelligent editorial commentary to break up the opressive monotony of propaganda.

The education system has been prodding children towards an increasingly globalist, environmentalist liberal agenda for decades.  The election of Obama has emboldened those dedicated to “fundamentally reshaping America”, thus the propagandizing efforts have unsurprisingly become more overt.  Indoctrination of our children is something that should galvanize and motivate the American people more than any debate on health care or “cap and trade”.  What greater betrayal is there than abusing the trust we put in the education system?

Hugo Chavez, “el Presidente for life” of Venezula, has now openly stated his efforts to indoctrinate children.  What better way to spread the message of (Marxist, totalitarian) revolution?  We have seen this story repeated again and again in human history, but Americans need to recognize events here and events in Venezula are two sides of the same coin.  Whether this propaganda comes from the mouth of a yelling dictator in military fatigues, or a friendly woman in a video talking about how our “system” (capitalism) is unsustainable, it is all the same thing, with the same goal: shifting power into the hands of the government.

We as Americans will lose our freedom not to the militaristic dictator mouthing lies of justice and equality for the worker, but to the million dollar ad campaigns telling us not to flush the toilet so often, the videos that teach our children that capitalism is a lie told by greedy corporate stooges, the Hollywood celebrities telling us to be more conscious of our “carbon footprint”, and to the man whose election caused a lot of warm feelings, shivers and tingly sensations.

  1. The fact that children have to watch this is despicable … even more despicable is that there is a link to “Story of Stuff” on the St. Louis City government website. /palmface
